| Who and What We Are
Tarrel Woodland Estate is a 60 acre Noble Fir plantation
located on the Moray Firth, around 40 miles from Inverness in the Highlands of
Scotland. We are within easy access of the A9 and main railway links.
Inverness airport is less than an hour away.
Our 50,000 Noble Fir trees yield around
80 tonnes of
high
quality foliage each year. During the year, while they are quietly
producing their lovely foliage, the trees provide a fantastic backdrop for a
range of outdoor activities, including leadership training,
team-development, bushcraft and rustic camping.
We aim to run the plantation with minimum impact on the
eco-system that has become established since the trees were planted. As
they grow, our trees soak up over 200 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.

Leadership and Team Development
The noble fir plantation
is owned by
Mark Janes Learning Solutions, a specialist provider of sales, management and
leadership training. The estate's location, on the coast and within easy
access to transport links and commercial centres, makes it ideal for use as an
outdoor "retreat" for small groups looking to work on their leadership and team-building skills. The facility is easily reached by firms based in the
Inverness and Aberdeen areas, or any Highland location. In fact, being
less than one hour from Inverness Airport, we offer an unusual location for
companies nationwide.
Let us design a
complete team-building or leadership training event for you, or use our site as
part of your own event.

Development activities.

Rustic Camping
For those seeking a real wilderness experience and total
seclusion, we are able to offer a select number of bush camping weeks during the
Spring and Summer. The camp is accessible from our gate on foot or by four
wheel drive. By prior arrangement we can transport you to the camping area
from the gate, where you can leave your car.
This is a totally different camping experience.
You will practically have the whole 60
acre estate to yourselves (apart from very occasional walkers and the odd visit
by us). The shore of the Moray Firth is adjacent to the
estate with the possibility of dolphin, whale and seal sightings. Roe
Deer, Foxes, Hares, Rabbits, Pheasants and Woodcock are all present on the
estate, and Peregrine Falcons nest in the cliffs below the woods.
